The Apreco GES Gas Extraction System is designed to work with our pressure relief vents to provide a solution for gaseous suppression post-discharge gas extraction.

All gaseous suppression systems require a means of either prompt natural or forced draft ventilation after a discharge as stated in ISO 14520-1:2023. The Apreco GES Gas Extraction System allows this process to happen whilst paired with our pressure relief vent, providing a complete solution.

The Apreco GES is designed to combine with our IGV inert gas vents and SGV synthetic gas vents to form a reliable and robust gas extraction system with minimal reduction in free vent area. The unit is provided as a strong stand-alone item to minimize installation time on site and easily combines with our vents to form a clean minimalist installation. This can be fitted at either high or low levels.

  • Gas extraction systems play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and operational integrity of data centres. The Apreco Gas Extraction System is designed to rapidly remove potentially harmful gases from the facility in the event of a fire or accidental release of fire suppression agents.

The primary purpose of a gas extraction system in a data centre is to maintain a safe environment for personnel and equipment. When inert gas fire suppression systems are activated, they displace oxygen to extinguish fires. However, this can create an oxygen-depleted atmosphere that is dangerous for humans. The gas extraction system quickly removes the suppression agent and restores normal air quality, allowing safe re-entry and minimizing downtime.

The benefits of implementing the Apreco Gas Extraction System in data centres are numerous. Firstly, it enhances overall safety by reducing the risk of asphyxiation for personnel who may need to enter the facility during or after a fire suppression event. Secondly, it helps protect sensitive electronic equipment from potential damage caused by prolonged exposure to suppression agents. Finally, by enabling faster recovery and re-entry times, gas extraction systems contribute to improved business continuity and reduced operational disruptions in the event of a fire or false alarm.
